Mary Nafula is a breast cancer survivor, certified counselor, and passionate cancer advocate based in Mombasa, Kenya. She is the Founder and CEO of Warriors of Hope, an organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers through education, psychosocial support, and advocacy.
With a strong focus on community engagement, Mary has led breast cancer awareness campaigns across seven counties, reaching diverse populations in schools, prisons, and faith-based institutions. As a Global Educator with the Know Your Lemons Foundation, she has successfully taught breast health to over 3,000 people, earning her the 2024 Best Breast Health Educator Award. In 2023, she was honored as the Cancer Advocate of the Year by the Muslim for Human Rights (MUHURI) organization.
Mary serves on the global advisory board of the Know Your Lemons Foundation as well as Haki Yetu organization board. She is an alumni of A Fresh Chapter leadership and a Mizizi program facilitator. Her work also includes active participation in survivorship research and youth-friendly SRHR initiatives. She is a committed human rights defender with Haki Yetu and a member of the international Inspire2Live movement.
Mary brings to KENCO a survivor-centered perspective, deep community roots, and a vision for inclusive, accessible cancer care across Kenya.
