Thomas Lindi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tobacco Control and Health Promotion Alliance (KETCA), a national network of civil society organizations dedicated to advancing tobacco control and health promotion efforts across Kenya. With over a decade of experience in public health advocacy, policy implementation, and coalition-building, Mr. Lindi has played a central role in shaping tobacco control initiatives aligned with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
He is a research fellow in tobacco control policies at the Africa Centre for Tobacco Industry Monitoring and Policy Research (ATIM) and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health, a Master’s in Monitoring and Evaluation, and a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development. His expertise spans national policy development, stakeholder engagement, performance-based grant management, and strategic project leadership in partnership with NGOs and development partners.
Mr. Lindi has successfully led projects that strengthen tobacco taxation, legislation, and capacity-building among stakeholders, contributing significantly to national and regional public health reforms. He is also actively involved in broader non-communicable disease (NCD) advocacy, serving on the boards of the Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance of Kenya (NCDAK) and the Kenya Network of Cancer Organizations (KENCO), both umbrella bodies coordinating NCD and cancer control efforts nationally.
