Philip Odiyo Ouma has been involved in cancer work in Kenya for over 20 years. He is currently serving as Country Lead for A Fresh Chapter in Kenya. A Fresh Chapter is a United States Based non-profit organization that deals with emotional empowerment for cancer patients and their caregivers in Kenya and United States. Philip is past Director for International Psych-Oncology Society representing Africa at the Board (2019-2023). He has presented in several international meetings in Rotterdam (2013), Lisbon (2014) and Berlin (2017). Miami (2021), Phoenix (2022) Budapest (2022) Madrid (2024) among others.
He is a reviewer in the following Journals: The Breast Journal, Supportive Care in Cancer, e-Cancer Journal and Psycho-Oncology: Journal of Psychological, Social, and behavioural dimensions of cancer, Journal of Sexual Medicine among others. He is currently Chair Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations, Vice President. Psycho-oncology Society of Africa. Global Ambassador Society for Integrative Oncology, Member Mental Health committee at Society for Sexual Medicine in North America. He is currently pursuing his PhD at Erasmus Medical University in Rotterdam Netherlands.
