A new device called the IRIS colposcope which has a thermal ablator attached to treat lesions on the cervix This tool magnifies the cervix for better visualization of the transformation zone, it also permits the user cast these images to a monitor. While on the monitor, the patient sees her cervix giving an opportunity for the user to explain details of the screening process.
