CureCervicalCancer Kenya is an affiliate of CureCervicalCancer (CCC), a 501(c)3, international non-profit dedicated to the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. CureCervicalCancer has screened over 185,000+ women, provided life-saving treatment to 12,500+ women, and established over 100 sustainable screening and treatment clinics across 10 countries.
CureCervicalCancer Kenya launched Mobile Health for Mamas, a community-based HPV (human papillomavirus) Testing and Treatment Program, designed to reach medically underserved women with life-saving cervical cancer screening and thermal ablation treatment. Mobile Health for Mamas is a holistic and comprehensive program addressing the full spectrum of preventative care.
Our activities include training and upskilling healthcare workers, community education, cervical cancer screening and treatment, and linking women with invasive diseases to advanced care and resources.
Mobile Health for Mamas has tested 19,925 women for HPV (representing 13.8% of the eligible screening population in Kisumu County) and treated 4,059 HPV+ women with thermal ablation. We trained 1,533 Community Health Volunteers who brought HPV self-sample testing directly to women’s doorsteps; 101 healthcare providers who screened and treated women in mobile clinics and public health facilities; and 7 Lab Technologists who are now equipped to process HPV tests.
